Firstly, something which is max damage and obtainable by me. After that, it goes into what type of skin I want/like.

And just sometimes... a collectors sword is awsome. Nothing better than having Koss set up with the correct blade (the one he starts with) but max damage and 15^50 mod

I just go with whatever works best, doesn't matter what skin it has. I like green stuff because I don't have to go mod hunting as much, though I do have a few rare req.8 max stuff with perfect mods, but those I just got from drops.

Back when PvE characters had an advantage over PvP chars in PvP, I got my warrior a nice golden phoenix blade, because that's one of the few sword skins I like. Other than that and 15k armor, I haven't done much because I don't have money.

I am quite shallow when it comes to weps to be honest, I like them to be pretty and sparkly xD

Yeah they have to be able to do the job, I wouldn't use a crap sword just because it sparkled, I'd find one thats skin I liked and pulled it off aswell.

I'd spend a lot on something I liked the look of but don't get me wrong though, I'd never buy a crystalline sword just because 'its rare'. The name is pretty but the sword itself...ugh. S'all about personal preference.

However Zodiac and Celestials...<3 them. I guess thats why I bought my monket a energy+5 zodiac sword to use, but hey to me its worth it, because I adore the skin. Its all good ^-^

i actually like skins that match the kind of armor that i wear, i don't care if its blue purple or gold, but it needs to get the job done

The only rare weapon I have is my Urgoz Longbow which dropped for me! My Ranger loves it. Beside that I really have nothing. There are a few Swords I have my eye on for my Monk but nothing that WOWS me.

Stats first, skin second. I am rather attached to my 15^50 fellblade, it dropped from a Blade of Corruption when my ele was doing the "Gain Zenmai" quest months ago. I rolled a warrior just so I could use it...

Also had a perfect Gothic Dual Axe drop for me the other day. Love that skin.

My monkie has halfass stuff. Diamond Aegises, Oni Blade, Igneous Sword. It's too expensive to outfit a 'complete' monk for PvP.

When it comes to me and a sword...I just ignore it, because I use axes!

Seriously now, I'd say desired mods and stats first, look second. I try to accomplish both at once, but if necessary I'll take any axe with my desired stats.

As for looks, a fellblade or FDS. I'm too poor to afford the big boys like Crystallines, though.

IMO colossal scimitar is definently the best sword skin and ive been saving money just so my monk would have. it would be even better if it was easy to buy, but i also like fellblades, and HATE crystillines.
its all about the way it looks for a monks because mads are just so easy to get

as has been stated before, personal looks over community chosen "good" skins... i have a orange req 10 (elonian) gladius that i customized the instant i got it, goes great with 15k sunspear and addy sheild (another collector item 5 margonite masks yay)

I mostly care about the stats. I'd rather have them on a cool looking skin, of course, but I really only use what I find, I don't buy weapons from other players just to get a cool skin. If I find one, then great, but it's not worth my hard-earned cash. I was rather happy a couple days ago when I found a perfect req 9 inscribable FDS for my Warrior.

I'm much more likely to splurge on armor, but I'm more picky about it too. I hate almost all ranger armor, which is bad since I play my ranger a lot, but I'm going to get ancient armor for her at some point, which looks pretty cool. The armor I'm most proud of is my male assassin's 15k kurzick armor, which is dyed white.

I think I'm coming to the realization that I buy pretty much all my weapons. Save hero equipment, I don't think anything I'm currently using actually dropped for me....

I really like the Dadao sword and usually just customize one of the 15>50 collectors ones. My Monk has a Vertebreaker (ugly as sin) that just happened to have perfect stats for the monk.

Honestly, most of the weapons on my warrior were drops for either myself or my wife. The only ones I bought were Victo's Axe, Sskai's Sword, The Razorstone, my new gold Fanged Sword, and all my shields, except for the Forgotten Shield and my collector shields.

There's still a nice handful of weapons I'd still like to get my hands on, but are currently beyond my reach, cause they're just too darn expensive. That includes a nice Dwarven Axe, Colossal Scimiatar, Tyrian Sickle (with better stats than good ol Victo's), Mallyx's Reaver/Stygian Reaver, Ascalon Razor (if and when we can ever get a max version *drools*), Sunqua Blade, Ornate Scimitar, and Mallyx's Edge.

See? I don't ask for much...

Seriously, I can't stand the elemental swords! I feel the same about them as I do about the Firey/Icy Blade axes - they look like glowing construction paper on a stick. If the blades actually had an effect, and were animated, it would be a different story.

Also, yeah I think Sunqua Blades aren't that rare, but I haven't been able to find a good one for sale in a LONG time. I certainly don't feel like CRing for ages just to find the right one. I did my CR time, and managed to get a nice Jade Sword out of it, which is, of course, a part of my collection

Luxury is somewhat a part of my playing experience and i'd like to know how many monks out there only go for the colossal scimitars or the crystaline. Also how many monks take a short sword and slap on one under mods on that.
Skins, I go for whatever I like. I don't care how popular or expensive it is, if I like it, I use it. Hell I'm actually quite content to use something cheap and sell anything uberrare that I find for some gold.

As a monk, I use this strange item called a "healing rod". But perhaps that's just me.

On the matter of weapons, just look at how ugly pvp items are, but nobody cares, cuz they serve their purpose.

In pve, however, skin does matter. Mostly armor skins is what matters to me and most others, but weapons are just as important. For example, just look at how nice Kanaxai's Edge is. And it's cheap too. Kanaxai's AXE FTW as well. The animation on the axe is like a light version of a fell blade, but much nicer.
